The SAC X is a new and very unique product, dedicated to making the
automation of your station as simple as possible. Once you have integrated the SAC X in your shack, you will be surprised how tidy your wiring is, and how easy complex switching of all antennas at your QTH, including reception only antennas, can be.
The SAC X is a system which automates antenna usage based upon band
usage. It controls antenna matrixes, band pass filters and notch filters
switchers, and other peripherals in your shack.
If you have more than one radio, and would like to have full control of
antennas from each rig, then you need SAC X. The SAC X can operate in your network and has a FOLLOW ME philosophy in its design. Your SMART Antenna Controllers (SAC X) communicate via the network in your shack allowing complete antenna switching control from each operating position
while preventing the kinds of errors which will ruin your radios and your day. Any configuration - SO2R, MS, M2 or even Multi Multi is
quickly possible without chaotic rewiring of your station.

4O - new prefix for Montenegro |
|
Wednesday, 16 May 2007 |
Montenegro finally has got new prefix series. According to the ITU (take a look here ), Montenegro can use 4OA to 4OZ series, which gives 4O0, 4O1, 4O2, 4O3, 4O4, 4O5, 4O6, 4O7, 4O8 and 4O9 prefixes for ham radio usage. According to the W3UR's DX-Daily Bulettin , "When asked
exactly when the two nations need to complete this change a response
of 'as soon as possible" was given.'
At the same time, Serbia's prefixes 4N and YZ have been taken away and given back to ITU for future use to another nation. Prefixes for Serbia are now: YU and YT, both including all areas (0 to 9).

Contest Techniques - Have We Found Them All ? |

Fortunately,
the WRTC 2006 organizing committee was not conservative, and modified
the WRTC rules, as used during the previous events. The new, less
restrictive rules allowed technical innovations, which under the old
rules would not have been allowed. The result was, that not only a
team's experience and tactical cleverness was highlighted, but also
their ability to use technical knowledge to come up with a good
technology concept as part of the contest stategy. This broadened the
scope of the WRTC contest and made Brazil more interesting.
Unfortunately,
however, the rule changes were officially announced just four months
before the WRTC event, which left us with only a short period for
developing and producing the large amount of hardware required for the
implementation of our ideas.
The door for real innovation was now open
The new rules allowed for two operators, two receivers but only for one
transmitter, one PA and one antenna for any given band. What the rules
did allow was almost unlimited station automation.
